Privacy Policy

Protecting Your Clipboard Data

ClipBridge is built on trust. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have to manage your data across every trusted device.

Effective date: 1/5/2026

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the minimum data necessary to operate the ClipBridge service and keep your mesh secure.
  • Account details – email address and authentication identifiers required to create and maintain your account.
  • Device metadata – device name, platform, and trust state so you can view and manage your mesh from any desktop.
  • Operational telemetry – minimal routing metrics (timestamps, delivery status) to ensure clipboard items reach the intended device.
  • Support interactions – information you share with our team when you contact us for help or feedback.

2. Clipboard Content & Encryption

Clipboard payloads stay encrypted between your trusted devices.

Clipboard items are encrypted on the source device and decrypted only on the destination device. Optional relay services deliver ciphertext but never receive plaintext. We store clipboard payloads only long enough to complete delivery.

Mesh owners can revoke devices or clear queues at any time. Logs generated for reliability drop automatically after a short retention period (typically < 30 days) and encrypted backups roll off within 90 days.

3. How We Use Information

Your data powers core product functionality and nothing more.
  • Authenticate you and your devices, manage permissions, and deliver clipboard items.
  • Provide customer support, investigate reliability issues, and improve product safety.
  • Generate anonymized analytics that help us understand product adoption and plan roadmap improvements.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Sharing & Third Parties

We limit third-party disclosures and never sell clipboard data.
  • Service providers – trusted infrastructure partners that host networking, storage, and monitoring layers under strict contractual restrictions.
  • Compliance – disclosures required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of ClipBridge and its users.
  • Business transfers – if ClipBridge undergoes a merger or acquisition, we will notify you before data is transferred.

5. Your Controls & Choices

ClipBridge is designed to keep you in control of your mesh.
  • Revoke or rotate device tokens at any time from the desktop apps.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by emailing privacy@clipbridge.app.
  • Opt out of preview programs from the application settings.
  • Configure OS-level privacy controls (screen locks, disk encryption) to complement ClipBridge protections.

6. Updates to This Policy

We publish revision dates and summarize meaningful changes.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product or regulatory changes. When we do, we adjust the effective date and provide a summary of updates in the release changelog. Continued use of ClipBridge after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

If a change significantly alters your rights, we will deliver in-product notifications or email alerts to the address associated with your account.
